These crevasses really captured my imagination on the hike up to the Le refuge des Écrins. The following day we climbed the Barre des Écrins. In this painting the Barre des Écrins, due to the perspective, is the smallest looking peak in the top right. But in reality it is the highest mountain in the region at 4102 meters. I still remember this as one of my favourite Alpine routes to date!
